8 Week Challenge - Day 26

By Dutsji | February 29, 2008

Today I had my second appointment this week with the personal trainer. It was only a half hour one, so we couldn’t do too much. He mixed cardio with weights. After the PT session I did a RPM spinning class. We had a new instructor and I think he has a secret mean streak. This dude worked us so hard. I recognized some of the songs and I know for sure he skipped heaps of recovering parts. It was a good and hard work out. Only one more day to go before I can take a day off.

Cardio

  • 5 min. Cross trainer - level 7 - 13/14 km/h
  • 8 min. Bike riding - level 7 - 90/100 rpm
  • 45 min. RPM spinning class

Weights

  • Drop sets Leg press
  • Drop sets Lat pull down

    Hi Dutsji

Congratulations on deciding to shed some weight. I just read your about page and noticed some extrinsic attributions towards weight loss. Forcing yourself to join a gym is never a good option, even though you pay hard earned cash to go, it can soon become a chore, and despite the money you may find yourself quitting.

I’d suggest that you set goals as a means of intrinsically motivating yourself I wrote about it here http://tinyurl.com/yvm8×9. With internal goals you are more likely to stick at it and reach your target weight. Talk it through with your PT also.

Good luck with the journey and i’ll be back to read about.

Hi Daniel, thank you for commenting on my blog!

I don’t force myself to go to the gym, I ENJOY going to the gym so I do not find it a chore and definitely won’t quit. As you can read on my blog I am VERY committed to exercising.

I have lots of internal goals that might not have been mentioned in the About Me page. As you can read I am participating in an 8 Week Challenge in the gym. Part of that challenge is setting goals and making a plan about how to reach those goals. I have weekly chats with my PT about this and I see a dietitian every fortnight.

That’s all good then. I wasn’t trying to demean your efforts in anyway. I could only go on what I read so apologies if I seemed unhelpful.

Gym challenges, as with all competition, are a great way to stay motivated so good luck with that. I look forward to seeing how you do. That virtual model tool you used is awesome btw.
