Exercise 22-04-2008

By Dutsji | April 23, 2008

After the work out on Monday I’ve had a pretty bad response from my neck. The pain just got worse and worse through out the day. I did not expect that to happen at all. But… on Tuesday I was back in the gym nonetheless. I decided not to do weight training just yet. Usually it strains my neck a bit, so I thought I do another cardio session to see how my neck would respond.

Cardio

  • 15 min. Cross trainer - level 4 - 13 km/h
  • 30 min. Bike - level 6 - 90/100 rpm
  • 15 min. Treadmill - 6.0 km/h - 5% incline

One thing I’ve learned from my strength training/body sculpting exercises (I use resistance bands) is that I shouldn’t be using my neck muscles at all.

It sounds like you might have strained your neck in one of your exercises (?). I think you’re doing the right thing by laying off the weight training until your neck heals, but I’m not a doctor. ;)
