Affordable health & fitness supplements
Ever since I started the 8 Week Body Challenge I have added supplements to my diet. Before the challenge I didn’t pay much attention to health supplements, but now I couldn’t do without. Not only did my personal trainer recommended to take health supplements, but also my dietitian. Besides the multivitamin tablets and the supplements with chromium to regulate the balance of my blood sugar level, I also take protein bars, supplements to help me sleep and tablets for my arthritis.
When you go to a health store or chemist to get these products you know that health supplements can come at a high price and they don’t always have all the products you are after. In a bid to cut some costs I started to look around the internet. Today I found a great online store that I would like to share with you. Supplements.net is a health & fitness super store that has a great range of affordable health supplements. The store is easy to navigate and orders over $99 get free shipping.
Whether you are looking for some help with losing weight, gaining muscle, joint support, insulin support, mood or sleep disorders or anything else, Supplements.net can provide you with supplements for a very good price.
8 Week Challenge - Day 39
My name is Dutsji and I am an addict!
There you go! I admit that I am addicted… to exercise. Not being able to go to the gym because of a broken down car is horrible. The car dummy did some research on the internet and turns out that my car needs some serious fixing by a mechanic. Problem is that I can’t get the car into a garage until after Eastern. Yikes!!!
So I have been desperately trying to think of a way to go to the gym. There is no public transport that will bring me there. I can not afford to take a taxi there. I don’t own a bike so I can cycle to the gym. It is too far to walk over there; if I walked over to the gym I would have had all the exercise I need for that day (and more) and still have to walk back. But… there is light at the end of the tunnel. With a bit of luck I can ‘borrow’ a car for the next two weeks. Fingers crossed!
In the mean time I have to work out at home on my stationary bike and by using my body weight for resistance training. Yesterday I did not have the time to get on the bike because of all sorts of appointments. Good thing is that I did a lot of walking between the appointments.
Another annoyance is that I can’t weigh myself. I don’t own a weighting scale and only weigh myself in the gym. Now I can’t check the numbers to see if I am still on track.
Body Weight
- 10 Burpees
- 50 Push ups
- 50 Squats
- 50 Crunches
Any tips on working out at home are welcome!
8 Week Challenge - Day 38
Yesterday when I came back from an appointment with my GP I think I blew up something in my car. Car dummy as I am, I have no idea what. All I know is that all of the sudden - without any signs of warning - I saw a massive amount of smoke coming from the exhaust. A couple of hundred meters down the road - when I was about to pull over - the smoking stopped. I managed to get home.
This morning when I started the car a fair bit of water was spitting out from the exhaust. I didn’t dare to drive to the gym in case I do more damage to it. So no gym visit today, I am so disappointed about that. But tonight I jumped on my stationary bike at home to make up for the missed body combat class.
Cardio
- 60 min. Bike riding - 25/26 km/h
8 Week Challenge - Day 37
After two days not exercising I was eager to get right back into it with my PT session. I worked pretty hard and my muscles were so sore, but to be honest I wouldn’t want to have it any other way. My PT session went for an hour and after that I did another hour of cardio.

- 15 min. Bike riding - level 7 - 90/95 rpm
- 30 min. Treadmill - 5.6 km/h - 2.5 incline
Resistance/Weights
- 3x 12 reps Leg press 180 kg
- 3x 12 reps Chest press 30 kg
- 3x 15 reps Seated row 30 kg

- 2x 15 reps Triceps cable 25 kg
- 2x 15 reps Hip abduction 40 kg
- 3x 10 reps Squats
8 Week Challenge - Day 35 & 36
Sunday was my usual day off. Monday I had an appointment with my PT at 7 am, but I rescheduled it to Tuesday. The MotoGP season has started again and as a huge MotoGP fan I didn’t want to miss the races. The first race - the 125cc class - started at 3.30 am and the last race at 6 am.
In the afternoon I had an acupuncture appointment and after that I went to bed to catch up on some sleep.
